SUMMARY OF THE STORY
Mata e Jan Hai Tu is a social romantic Urdu novel, written by popular novelist Farhat Ishtiaq and this revolves around a love story of a young couple, a Pakistani boy and a US-born girl with family background of 3 generations in America and she has no interest in the land of his grandparents (Pakistan), Studying Engineering and Architecture in Columbia University in the US. It is a story of love, story of sensitive hearts, story of true relations, story of pure feelings, also the story of Haniya Ibad. It follows the lives of two Columbia students, Haniya Sajjad and Ibad Uzair Ibad is a young Pakistani who has joined Columbia University for his master's degree and a brief stint at his father's business. Haniya Sajjad is a protagonist of the story. She has devoted herself for her lover, husband, study, friends, parents, siblings, career, profession, also for her parents in law. 
 Haniya Sajjad 'Hani' and Ibad Uzair 'Aabi' meet as students at Columbia University, New York. Haniya has lost her parents and lives with her grandmother. Haniya Sajjad is an ambitious, talented, competent and confident girl. She wants to build bridges and houses since her childhood. Ibad has true feelings for her Haniya. He has a good sense of humor, diligent, industrious, studious, and unflagging. Haniya and Ibad fall in love. 
 But when Ibad, on an anniversary trip back home, informs his parents about this relationship, his father Uzair makes it clear that he will never accept it. As a dutiful son, Ibad decides to forget his love and marry the girl chosen by his father. When Ibad returns to the US, however, Haniya loses her grandmother and is left distraught. Ibad decides to marry her at once. He visits Pakistan to break the news to his parents. Uzair explodes in anger and, ignoring his wife Hajra' please, announces that Ibad is no longer part of the family. A saddened Ibad, on the way to the airport, rings up Haniya and tells her what has happened. To comfort him, Haniya promises that she will go to Pakistan and gain his father's forgiveness. 
The story takes turn when girl decides to leave America for Pakistan and joins her relatives to settle in Pakistan. Finally, she left USA for Her Love, Her husband, for her lover’s parents to make his position clear in front of his parents that how much he loves them. At last she won the hearts of her darling husband. This story is so different from other love stories. You see a person chooses his lover instead of Parents, but Ibad picked both of them. Haniya is also a role model for girls of now-a-days.. You should love your parents-in-law equally.

  "Farhat Ishtiaq" gives us a lesson that we must learn to forgive and forget. It would make life, simpler, easier and so much happier and death shows that it is the reality of life. No one is immortal here.
